Legacy Estate
The Brief
Comanche County Medical System was constructing a new long-term care facility for elderly patients. Located in the heart of Texas, the facility is surrounded for miles by grass fields and prairies. The client wanted a logo that represented stability, while focusing on care.
Given the name, Legacy Estate, they wanted the logo to play off of the Estate concept, and look high end in its design and color-scheme.
The Solution
To play off of the surroundings for the facility, and to evoke the idea of an estate, with sprawling grass fields, I got started drawing abstract plant shapes. I then played off the idea of incorporating an “L” and an “E” in the plant shape, for Legacy Estate.
The final design is an abstracted plant, inspired by the Red Yucca, which is a succulent plant native to Texas. To contain the plant, I inset it in a circle, but added dimension by having the petals overlap at the top, to invoke the idea of growth and prosperity. This was further fleshed out in the color scheme of gold and blue, which further highlights the serenity of the location, and the luxury of the amenities.
